How to manage data fields in Trackinno. Add your own data fields according to your company's needs.

Data fields are used to manage information related to assets, asset types, and location types, for example.

Click Data fields on the upper right corner menu. In the Data fields page you can see all the data fields added to the system.

Adding a new data field

You can add a new data field by clicking New field button on the upper right corner of the Data fields page.

When creating a new data field, you can first determine the type of the field (text field, date, select, etc.). Next you can adjust the following settings as needed.

  • Global (assets): The data field will automatically be available for all the assets.

  • Global (asset types): The data field will automatically be available for all the asset types.

  • Required: The data field is required, and changes (e.g. to asset information) cannot be saved until the field is filled.

  • Value can be set by scanning barcode: The data field can be filled by using the Trackinno mobile's barcode scanner. This is a handy feature for adding serial numbers, for example.

You can also limit data fields for user roles.
